Think about each problem, enter what you consider to be the best answer. In the comments box for each question you can enter your justification, explanation, or indicate under what circumstances (for example which bidding system) you would give this answer. Please note, however, that the preferred system by which to answer the problems is Acol as taught by the Otago club (so 1H/S openings might only be 4 cards and a 1NT opening indicates 12-14 HCP).

The answers from all members who participated will be collected and considered by several expert players at the club. A discussion of the problems, with an indication of one or two of the best answers will then be posted on the website a month or six weeks after each set of problems was posted.

There is no one 'correct' answer; there are only best options under the circumstances.  Marks will be given for each answer, depending on best fit or closest to expert opinion.  At the end of the year the marks each participant has received will be added up and the person with the highest score will be declared the winner. A small prize will be awarded to the winner and runner-up.
